Missing Scene Challenge #4 |
|
|
|
|
|
We have three missing scenes
for you this month. Also, last Saturday a group of us got together on IM and
generated some new ideas, so we should have enough missing scene challenges
to last awhile. It was great fun. It was great to see so many
stories submitted last month...7 altogether. I'm hoping we can do at least
that well this time around. I was so impressed by the quality of last month's
offerings, I can't wait to see what people come up with this time. Here are the challenges: #1 In Bounty, Murdock is
attracted to Kelly, the veterinarian who saves his life. He kisses her at the
end just before the team leaves. What
happens between the time of the kiss and the time she comes to visit him at
the VA? Is one of the others jealous? Is he even in a relationship with one
of the others? Does the kiss spur one of them on to declare their feelings
for him? Is Murdock choosing heterosexuality over homosexuality now? Go anywhere
you want with this. #2A: In the episode Family
Reunion, Face and Murdock argue when Murdock finally tells Face he knew AJ
was Face's father. On the show, that scene ends with Murdock telling Face one
of the things he likes about their friendship is that they don't have to trip
all over their tongues apologizing to each other. But there is no more said
in the ep about their confrontation. Either continue that scene or write
another to take place at the end of the episode in which Face and Murdock
talk more about what happened. This does not have to be a Face/Murdock
pairing, though at least one of the two of them should be in a relationship
with another team member. #2B: For those of you who might
like a different approach to Family Reunion, here's another scenario you
might like to use. Face tells Ellen that they are siblings. Ellen tells him
kindly but in no uncertain terms that she does not think they should see each
other again. She needs to make a life for herself free of the taint of
association with AJ Bancroft or any other Bancroft...including her outlaw
half-brother. She leaves him at the graveside. What happens next? (In the
episode, Murdock is waiting for him in the van, but this doesn't have to be a
Face/Murdock pairing. You just have to find a way to get one of the others there
or to get Face to them. I hope these give you some
ideas and get you writing. Remember, these don't have to be long pieces, so
don't feel like you shouldn't participate just because you don't have a whole
story to tell. These are also good opportunities to experiment with point of
view, style, and other things that may help you grow as a writer. So don't be
afraid to participate. The more the merrier! Elizabeth Kent ____________________________________ |
