Missing Scene Challenge #5 |

Hi, everyone, Here is the newest slash
challenge for you. I'm sorry to have
been so long getting anything posted.
This is the first relatively free weekend I've had in more than a
month, and I needed to browse through a few of the eps on tape to get the
right information to compose the challenge.
I was finally able to do that this morning. I've selected the ep Beast From
the Belly of a Boeing for this challenge. There's more than one pairing possible given the events in the
ep, and it could lend itself either to a humorous treatment or a more angsty
one. I wanted to offer something a
little lighter this month, but I think I'll hold off on that one until our
next challenge when I've had a chance to review more tapes. So here are the challenges: The F/M challenge: Write any of the following scenes or weave
them together into a longer story: On the plane Face asks to use the toilet, and when he
gets in there, Murdock pops up between him and the door. What happens between then and the time Murdock
opens the door again? What was happening to Face and Murdock when the plane
depressurized and BA was rescuing Hannibal?
Murdock had been blinded by that time, and he and Face were in the
back. At the end of the ep, BA and Hannibal take Murdock back
to the VA, but Face is not with them.
They don't know yet that Murdock will be staying at the VA again, so
maybe Face is expecting him back.
However, Murdock seems glad to be back home at the VA when they lock
him up again. This could be interesting to try to explain in a slash
context, but hey, I guess that's why they call it a challenge. The H/F challenge: Write any of the following scenes or weave
them together into a longer story: When they're being held on the plane, Hannibal says to
Face, "We may be running out of road." Face says something like, "Are you crazy? We're in real trouble here! Get creative!" They both subside into silence for awhile after
that. What are they thinking? Can they communicate somehow and say their
goodbyes without talking in front of their captors? Like Face says, get creative! When they're about to land the plane, Hannibal says,
"Face, if we crash…" just before BA grabs him around the neck. What was he going to say? What does Face understand about what he
was going to say? Given a slash context for the "Face, if we
crash" statement, write an epilogue for the episode in which Hannibal
goes back home to Face after dropping Murdock off. Now that the pressure is off and the mission is complete, maybe
it really hits him (or Face) just how close they came to losing each other forever
with no chance for a proper goodbye.
So what happens when they're finally alone together? Okay, besides that. BA/? Pairing. BA is obviously traumatized in this
ep. Maybe his lover only now truly
understands just how frightened BA really is of flying. This ep, or parts of it, might make an
interesting first- person narrative told from the pov of B.A.'s lover as he
watches BA try to cope with his fear.
Depending on who you choose to be BA's lover, select a part or parts
from the episode to tell from that person's pov that illustrate his feelings
for BA. You might also compose an epilogue for the ep in which the lover
plans something special for BA in order to make it up to him. Good luck, and happy writing! Elizabeth ____________________________________ |
