The 20th anniversary version of the Eldorado featured changes in its suspension
and engine damping. The use of deflected disc strut valves on cars with the
touring suspension provided a more comfortable ride and better road manners.
New hydro-elastic engine mounts were also used. New vehicle-sensitive rear
seat belts were used on all Eldorados. A new cashmere cloth and leather
interior trim was offered. Twelve new exterior colors, for a total of 19,
were introduced. Larger P205/75R14 standard tires was also used. For the
first time, Cadillac offered the cabriolet top as an option for the base
Eldorado. The Biarritz had a redesigned cabriolet top.
