Ghostly Twitching Tunic Spooks Scottish Castle Staff
[Original headline: CASTLE GHOST FEAR]
Staff at Edinburgh Castle have been spooked by the 200-year-old tunic of a drummer - because the arm twitches all by itself.
Workers believe the outfit's movements have been sparked by the war in Afghanistan.
They think the ghost of the tunic's wearer is beating his drum because of the conflict.
The red, 19th century tunic on display at the castle is thought to have belonged to soldier Donald McNab who was shot.
One worker in the cafeteria where the tunic is on show in a glass case said: "There is a strange feeling and I blame the tunic."
Local ghost tour guide Robin Mitchell said: "There have been reports of the spectre of a headless drummer at the castle since 1650."
Several people claimed to have seen the ghost of the headless drummer in the castle grounds over the past few years.
Ghost hunters checked out the vaults earlier this year but found nothing.
