Un equipo de investigadores chilenos descubrió en base a fotografías de la NASA a un extraño objeto que acompañó al Columbia antes de su destrucción.
Esta versión coincide con informes efectuados un día después del lanzamiento del transbordador: radares militares captaron un objeto alejándose rápidamente del Columbia, frente a lo cual la NASA reconoció que no sabía de qué se trataba.
Fue este extraño hecho el que interesó al investigador chileno Alberto Urquiza y un grupo multidisciplinario de especialistas.
Conocido por su escepticismo frente a las versiones de platillos voladores sin datos comprobados, Urquiza se dedicó junto a sus colaboradores a analizar más de 200 fotos que la propia NASA publicó sobre la última expedición del antiguo transbordador.
Tras la extenuante revisión, 197 fotos no demostraron tener nada en particular. Sin embargo, en tres de ellas apareció un extraño objeto a poca distancia de la cola del Columbia.
