"My Update 2001****2002"

THIS IS MY LATEST UPDATE

You may wonder why this link is called troubled,
After my last operation nothing seemed to go right
I had continuos infections on the soft tissue of my
fingers from the partial amputations,I spent nearly
one and a half years in complete isolation mainly from
The Acute PAIN I suffered and, guess you could say naturaly

feeling sorry for myself cursing at times,how silly I was that
I did not have them completely

Where do I begin to explain or more to the point,How do I "explain"?
****during this time I suffered yet another muscular break down ****
This would have been the fourth I exprienced,during the time I have had
Scleroderma,for the first I was Hospitalized as I suffered malnutrition
I was also Hospitalized with the second attack,I was treated with an IV
Drip to build me up the other Two I was able to take oral antibiotics at home
This worked as I was aware of symptoms and always kept water by me for easy access
I had to take things easy which mean't allowing me out of bed for up to five hours per
day which increased weekly,until I was able to walk snail pace with out my walker
********THIS WAS PUT DOWN TOO STRESS RELATED********


*********WHAT HAPPENED NEXT**********
On the 21st of January 2002

My Pre-Operation day!! urgent appointment re: more
*************AMPUTATIONS**************
*************YES-URGENT ???***********
I went through all the normal TEST'S needed,"OH NO!!"
what more could go wrong,"Ahh" but it did,I had a urinal
tract infection**This couldn't be happening,could anymore go wrong

A week later I was called in again, A discussion,regarding A Colonoscopy
Specialist*revealing they would perform,yet another operation,a mention of a
colon bag*****How much more can a person take ???*****
The Specialists after much ado,that this operation would take place prior
to my finger amputations discussions with my Rheumatoligist,revealed this
I would be unable to use the bag while I was on my own,with restrictions of my
Fingers,when carers were not on duty!!this I agreed with,(wouldn't you)*

~~Friday 2-2-2002~~
A visit to my local GP for a further, Urinal test Wow you beauty it came up
********"NEGATIVE"********
A PLUS for me these are very few and far between.

An appoitment with
~~~~"MY RHEUMATOLIGIST"~~~~~
new's was great Regarding Conformation NO !! Operation for colon bag!!
another Plus hard to say,as I have to grin and bare yet another obstacle
that I would at all times, be using disposable pull on's

~~Monday 18-2-2002 ~~
I awoke in severe pain my right elbow I laid back in bed and waited
until my carer arrived,I could not bring myself to get up out of bed,
I had a huge infected calcium deposit on my elbow this I believe happened,
from using my elbows to protect my infected fingers,easing myself to prop
up in bed,when she tried to get me to the shower,she noticed another one
one on my tail bone**I rang My GP !!the recepionitist was unable give me an
appointment for two more days, I was so upset and in so much pain,I then remembered that I
had a perscriptoin at my Pharmacy I then began to take this Antibiotic
(ciporxin-antibiotic)for my Infections,and also had bed rest,appointment day arrived
My G.P then tried me on a dfferent pain killer called Tramal 20mg slow release
Yes!my fear was revealed another finger bone infection**I agreed to carry on with my Medication
I had only vaguely mentioned my Elbow,I kept on with my medication I had to take a second course
My finger still played havoc with me,slowly but surely my elbow felt some relief
It still hurts but I am padded well,with foam pads.It makes for easy moving
lifting myself in bed, Luaren O/T at the hospital made these up for me Covered with aqua protect film


~~Friday 22-2-2002~~
*At last a final arrangement made with all The Specialists, getting together
to perform my operation,It was agreed that I could have the Prostaglandin infusion
insertion line in my arm, OH BOY !!! was I a happy chick I dreaded that thing in my
Jugular**So all was set for~~ 15th of April ~~Now that's what I call urgent Operation
procedure only a few months
