These stamps - all of them scarcely seen MINT on the philatelic market - are usually with defective gum
Stamps did remain at the post office from 1976 /79 until 1982/85 ( date of overprinting ) in a tropical climate and receiving any care at all
The first overprinting was made on December 16, 1982
The second overprinting was made on November 22, 1983
The third overprinting was made on 1985 ( exact date yet unknown ). Quantities are also unknown but most of them actually saw postal use. The overprint itself revaluated those older and useless stamps at the new currency which was 100 old kip = 1 new kip
At time of issue the exchange rate was : 10 kip = 1 US$ which explains its high quotations and why the higher values are often seen used in the late nineties.
Numbering system used is from the MICHEL 2006 - Band 8 catalogue.
Prices are US$ and refers to medium quality gum ; better quality gum will command a premium.
