On the 'porter, to weigh in here with a few
cents, I would much rather leave
off the quake2 style vertically aligned star trek tube-of-motion
thing we
have going on here. More interesting, I think, would be the
whirling cubes
nag whipped up or
a creature, similar to a
levitating jellyfish, whose tendrils hang down in sobbing bulbs
of light,
wherupon you enter you port
said creature could be
affixed to walls or a post of some sort, as if captured by space
travellers
and bred for this purpose etc
or a free standing frame
of some sort, elabarate or no, that has a simple hole in the
center, like
jumping through an art nouveau trimmed mirror
a pulsing cloud of thick
black smoke, if smoke were oil, that "feels" outward
tentativily with
curling fingers as it sits there waiting to port folks
