Notes:
1. Medics (Billy Garrett and Jim Starr) defeated Jose Lothario and Wahoo McDaniel in the finals of a
7-man tag team tournament to become the first champions. The titles were then vacated on January 21,
1969 after aa controversial victory by Jack Brisco and Nick Kozal over the Medics in Tampa, Florida.
2. The Medics (Billy Garrett and Jim Starr) wins a tournament for the titles. THe titles were held up after
a match against Bobby Fields and Lee Fields on February 18, 1969 in Tampa, Florida.
3. Medics (Billy Garrett and Jim Starr) defeated Bobby and Lee Fields in a rematch.
4. The titles were stripped in December of 1970.
5. Jose Lothario and Danny Miller defeated the Infernos in the finals of a tournament.
6. Titles were vacant in 1971 when Jack Brisco was injured.
7. Ron Garvin and Ole Anderson wins a tournament.
8. Titles were vacant on September 5, 1973 when Orton defeated Matsuda to win both tag team titles,
but the NWA rules the titles vacant. The first tournament ends with Jimmy Golden and Robert Fuller
wrestling to a draw with Redbeard and Mike Webster on September 12, 1972 in Tampa, Florida.
9. Jimmy Golden and Ron Fuller defeated Paul Jones and Dick Murdoch in a tournament final.
10. The Samoans (Afa and Sika) defeated Eddie Graham and Mike Graham for the titles.
11. Unknown title changes.
12. Titles were vacated in 1975.
13. Unknown title changes.
14. Titles vacant in 1977.
15. Ivan Koloff and Mr. Saito wins a tournament for the titles.
16. Eric The Red was killed.
17. Stanley Lane and Bryan St. John defeated Ray Stevens and Eddie Graham. Titles were declared
vacant on November 6, 1979 after a match against Mr. Hito and Mr. Sakurada in Tampa, Florida.
18. Mike Graham and Steve Keirn defeated Mr. Hito and Mr. Sakurada.
19. Titles were vacant in 1980.
20. Barry Windham and Scott McGhee defeated the Assasins in a tournament final.
21. Titles were vacant in 1981 and the titles became inactive.
22. The New Breed (Sean Royal and Chris Champion) defeated Kendall Windham and Vic Steamboat.
23. The titles were awarded to the Playboys.
24. The Bounty Hunters defeated Lou Perez and Brickhouse Brown.
25. The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Saggs) defeated Bounty Hunter and The Terminator.
26. Robert Fuller and Kendall Windham defeated Brian Knobbs and Hurricane Walker.
27. Titles were vacant in 1990 when Mike Graham retires.
28. Sgt. Rock and Mark Starr defeated Joe Gomes and Hurricane Walker.
29. The titles were abandonded.
30. The titles were vacated in 1998.
31. Steve Kiern and B. Brian Blair defeated Cuban Assassin and Pepe Prado. Titles were held up on
August 15, 2000 in Tampa, Florida when they fought to a No Contest against The Bushwhackers (Luke
Williams and Butch Miller).
32. Brian Blair defeated Steve Keirn for the held up title. Picked Cyborg as his new partner.
33. B. Brian Blair and Cyborg vacated the titles on July 10, 2001. The Shane Twins (Mike and Todd)
defeated The Heavenly Bodies (Casanova Chris and Vivacious Vito) and The Market Crashers (Dow
Jones and Nasdaq) to win the tag team titles in a three-way match.
34. Wrongful Death (Naphtali, Dagon Biggs, Havoc, and Ashe Corvan) defeated Quickiemart (Yaz and
Agent Steel), and Christian York and Joey Matthews in a three-way match for the tag team titles.
35. Wrongful Death (Naphtali, Dagon Biggs, Havoc, and Ashe Corvan) defeated
Nick Berk and Z-Barr, and Deranged and Insane Dragon in a three-way match for
the tag team titles. According to Ron Niemi, any combination of the three will
be allowed to defend the titles.
36. Todd and Mike Shane defeated Scoot Andrews and Mikey
Tenderfoot (substituting for Mike Sullivan) to win the tag team titles.
37. Title was vacated in February of 2004 due to bicep injury to
Mike Shane.
38. Fahrenheit 420 (Stash and David Mercury) defeated Scoot
Andrews and Antonio Banks, The Untouchables (Rod Steel and Mikey Tenderfoot),
and Shockwave (Mikey Batts and Erick Stevens) in an elimination match to win
vacant title.
